Dolphy in TV5’s “Mga Kuwento ni Mang Pidol”

Here’s the latest about Dolphy’s new show on TV5: It’s titled “Mga Kuwento ni Mang Pidol.” The program is a fusion of the old “Lola Basyang” stories with a dash of comedy and humor. Call it the new “Wansapanatym,” but with Dolphy as narrator — maybe even acting in some episodes — after all, it is still a sitcom (Dolphy’s sitcom) but with a twist

On a side note: Malaki raw ang offer ng TV5 kay Dolphy kaya napa-OO ito to transfer sa Ka-Shake network na pagmamay-ari ni Manny Pangilinan. Ex-Kapamilya si Pidol kung saan matagal siyang namalagi. In fact, sa mga station IDs ng Dos, si Mang Pidol lagi ang panghuli, giving him the importance he deserves. In our opinion, lucky charm si Dolphy sa Dos; sana’y maging lucky charm din siya sa Singko.

Doble o triple raw ang offer ng TV5 sa mga artistang pina-pirate nila sa Kapamilya o Kapuso network? Ang maikling sagot ni Dolphy: “Basta nagpapasalamat lang ako at inoperan ako ng TV5 ng bagong show. It’s nice to work again. Aba, tatlong taon din akong walang ginagawa.”
